Westfield-Barbara Agnes (Barnes) Hess, 81, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at home. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 9, 1936 to the late Francis and Grace (St. John) Barnes. She was raised in Springfield moved to Huntington and graduated from Huntington High School. She married E. Richard Fairman and lived in Worthington where she raised her 6 children. Barbara worked in the Gateway School System as a secretary in the office. She then married Thomas Hess and moved to Westfield. She also lived in Southwick and wintered in Florida. She moved back to Westfield for the past 2 years. She enjoyed sewing, bingo and the casinos. She was pre-deceased by her husband Thomas Hess in 1987 and her daughter Susan Liimantanien in 2014. She leaves her children Pamela Fairman of Claremont, FL, Dawn Bisbee of Chesterfield, Judi Bongiovanni of Westfield, Barbara Lynn Garland of Greenville, NC, and Richard Fairman of Brandenburg, KY. Barbara also leaves 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at the Arbor’s in Westfield and Compassus Hospice for the love and affection that was shown to their mother. Calling hours will be held on Friday December 1st at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield from 4-6 pm. The funeral and burial will be private.
