Clarinda Joanne “Jody” (Archibald) Cox, 86, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018 at The Wellington in Springfield, MA. She was born in Washington, PA to the late Peter G. and Martha I. (McKibben) Archibald. She was raised in Greensburg, PA and was a 1951 graduate of Greensburg High School and attended class reunions for over 50 years. “Archie” served in the United States Army during Korea from 1951-1953. She graduated from Signal School and attained the rank of Corporal. After her children were grown, she worked as a typesetter and did camera work for several local printing companies. She also drove a bus for PVTA for many years. Following her retirement she was a member of the Red Hat Society and performed in the Senior Olympics, medaling in pool and horseshoes. Jody loved to bowl, was involved in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She loved trips to Cape Cod, her trip to Hawaii in 2004 and was most proud of owning her own home and hosting many family gatherings there. Jody is survived by her loving children, Rev. Dr. Evelyn Lavelli and her husband Gary of Hardwick, VT, Eugene Cox of Worcester, MA, Elizabeth Lauziere and her husband Carl of Springfield, MA and Eileen Dixon and her husband Brad of Natick, MA. She was predeceased by their father E. Dale Cox. Other survivors include her brother Peter G. Archibald, Jr of Georgia, her cherished grandchildren: Danny Lavelli, Angie Anderson and her husband Lt. Col. Merlin Anderson, Michelle Lauziere and Jake Dixon, her great grandchildren: Hayden, Ally, Andy, A.J., Jonathan and Kara and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 12:30 PM from the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by burial with military honors in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Main St. Agawam.
