I am out of town and just received the news. Please know that the Mirek family is in my thoughts and prayers. When I moved to Massachusetts your family treated me with such kindness. Gary was a true friend and loved by so many. When someone we love becomes a memory...their memory becomes our treasure. I will always treasure him as will you and will keep your family close in thought. My sincere sympathy.

To the entire Mirek family we send our deepest sympathies, we'll keep you and Gary in our thoughts and prayers. I'll always remember the long discussions we had on the great Hartford ice storm of 1973 and the fun we all had in the WMECO/NEPOOL bowling league.

Rest in peace Gary. We met at your mother's service in Glastonbury, CT a few years ago when I brought my grandmother Noreen Waitkus to attend. I can't say enough great things about you and your whole family. I remember you telling me that you and my late father James Waitkus, had worked together as security officers at the old G-Fox department store in Hartford during your younger years. He always had great things to say about you as well and I hope you two are sharing more of the great memories in life right now in heaven. God bless you. My condolences to the entire Mirek family. Gary will be missed by us and many others.
