Gordon T. Hardie of Tolland, MA, peacefully passed August 16th at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Ericka.  Born August 26, 1937 in Hartford, CT, he grew up in Tolland and was a graduate of Westfield High School.  A self-taught engineer and member of the Army Corp of Engineers, Gordon had a successful career planning and building residential developments, commercial properties and military facilities.  He leaves behind three sons and two daughters:  Gordon and wife Jean of Easthampton, MA; David and partner Martha Smith, of Easthampton, MA; Brett and wife Ericka of Tolland, MA; Cheryl Novak and fiancé Dan Brengman of Minneapolis, MN, and Deborah and husband Glen Swanson of Daphne, Alabama.  He also leaves behind his sister Shirley and husband Richard Mellen of Uxbridge, MA, his loving companion Lisa Ford of Springfield, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held 2-4 p.m. on Friday, August 26th, at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA.  A private service for family members will be held upon conclusion of calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 59 Bobala Rd. Holyoke, MA 01040.
