Mario C. Picchi, 96, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in the Reservoir Nursing Home in Marlborough, MA. He was born in Dorno, Italy to the late Santo and Josephine (Savini) Picchi. Mario served with the United States Army during WWII from 1942-1946, attaining the rank of TEC 5 and receiving the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He was a firefighter for the City of Westfield for over 32 years retiring in 1981. Mario was predeceased by his beloved wife Rita (Lavere) Picchi in 2006, he is survived by his sister Rose C. Ardizoni of Feeding Hills, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday at 11am in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085 followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield.
