Westfield-Patricia L. (Johnson) Gilbert, 66, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at home, after a long battle with esophageal cancer. She was born in Westfield on December 1, 1950 to the late Robert and Leocadia (Brach) Johnson. She was a lifelong resident of Westfield and was a 1968 graduate of Westfield High School. She attended nursing school where she received her L.P.N. and worked as a nurse for over 40 years. Pat enjoyed playing bingo, loved animals, enjoyed cooking, and working in her yard. She was the loving mother of Sara Gilbert of Westfield and Travis Gilbert of Maine, loving grandmother to Colin and Noah Gilbert. She also leaves her brother Ralph Johnson and his wife Diane of Westfield, several nieces nephews and cousins and her best friend Kathy Lafreniere. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 8th from 5-7 pm from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. The funeral and burial will be private in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the spring.
