Wilda Lieberman

April 19, 1922 ~ May 14, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

- Wilda Catherine Lieberman, lovingly known as Kay, passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day at the home of her only daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Mike Boulanger. Kay was a Hoosier and a US Navy Wave during WWII. She met and married Murray, a military dentist, and they lived happily together traveling around the world. Kay lived a long life almost fulfilling her dream of 100 years, and it was full of fun, diversity and adventure. Kay loved her first job as a checker in a supermarket, then she sang for a while on the radio, she was a dental assistant, she managed a bookstore and she was a first class bowling instructor. While in France she became quite an accomplished oil painter, she loved to dance, she was an excellent and avid master points bridge player, a champion bowler, and most of all a beautiful person, loved infinitely by her family and friends. Kay came to Massachusetts for a short visit two years ago and never gave up her dream to return to her home in the state of Washington. Overcome by many obstacles, she sadly never made it, losing a long, well – fought battle with cardiovascular disease. Kay was a ray of sunshine wherever she was, she loved people and made those she encountered always feel good about themselves. She will be missed terribly. Kay was predeceased by her husband Murray of 67 years. She is survived by her only daughter Karen Boulanger and her husband Mike, her grandson Milton Venetos and his partner Rhonda Jones, her granddaughter Anastasia Wahl and her husband Sebastian, her grandson Ryan Boulanger, his wife Amber and their son Nolan (Kay’s only great grandchild, her sweetest joy), and her grandson Mathew Boulanger and his wife Tiffany, as well as three nephews she loved dearly, Phil Griffith, Ted Griffith, Dan Griffith and their families. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 16, 2017 at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home in Westfield, Ma at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Wilda Lieberman, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, Ma 02241. Kay will be buried with her husband Murray in a veteran’s cemetery in Washington later this month. firtionadams.com
