January 9, 1951 ~ November 6, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Greenfield-William J. Grogan, 66, of Greenfield, MA passed into eternal life on Monday, November 6, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease at Western Mass Hospital. William was born January 9, 1951 to the late Alice (Pulaski) Grogan and William Grogan. He leaves his caring, devoted, loving wife, Alicia and his sister Lisa Webber and her husband Richard and nephew Nathan of Norwood, MA. He also leaves his loving, devoted, sister-in-law Bernardine (Barnie) Laquerre and husband Paul of Southwick, a brother-in-law David Dolinski of Westfield who was always there to put a smile on his face. He also leaves a niece Jill Reed and a nephew Andrew Reed of Westfield. Bill was a kind, gentle, quiet man who didn’t know the word “NO”. He loved to travel, especially their 4 trips to the Hawaiian Islands and Caribbean. He loved animals, especially his cats Brutie and Fluffy. Bill looked forward to spending Thanksgiving and Super Bowl with BBF’s Bob and Diane Roy and their children Eric and Jamie of Westfield, and of course, Rocky their dog whom he was very fond of. He was an exceptionally brilliant man who could have excelled in anything he chose. He chose computer design, repair and programing. He worked for Digital Equipment in Westfield and Maynard, MA, Comquac and HP, followed by OnCore in Springfield from 2004-2014. He was especially fond of his manager, Jim Zollo, who started calling Bill, “Billy Bob Brubaker” which Bill continued to call himself when asked his name. At this time, I would like to thank my BBF, Diane Roy of Westfield, who never left my side, giving me support through my darkest days. Also, North-2 staff and others involved in their exceptional care of William at Western Mass Hospital. To each of you, “THANK YOU”, goes my heartfelt appreciation for their support through my darkest days and hours. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 11, at 11 AM at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield, MA. Calling hours will be held before the service on Saturday from 9:30 AM -11AM.
