Albert E Strong

Westfield-Albert E. Strong, 98, died Saturday, December 1, 2018. He was born on July 31, 1920 to the late Seaver E. and Mabel V. (Knight) Strong. He grew up in Huntington and was a 1939 graduate of Huntington High School. He served in the U.S. Army in WW-2 from 1942-1945. He was a tractor Trailer Driver for the former General Fiber Box Co. now Longview Fiber Box Co. for 26 years retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 404. After retirement he and his wife Mary enjoyed camping and traveled to 48 states. They also enjoyed spending time in Myrtle Beach. Albert was pre-deceased by his wife Mary J. (Henchey) Strong in 2013 after 64 years of Marriage. He leaves his son Richard Strong and his wife Patricia of Westfield, his grandchildren Michelle Melo and her husband Tony and Nicole Orsucci and her husband Bob, his grandchildren Anthony, Austin and Gabriella, his sister in-law Patricia Henchey of Westfield and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Charles and Howard Strong. The family would like to thank the staff at the Harmony House for the wonderful loving care that was given to Albert. The funeral will be held on Tuesday December 4th at 12 noon at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
