Westfield-Alice (Kearns) Comerford, 90, a longtime resident of Westfield, MA, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in Westfield Gardens Nursey Home. She was born in Taunton on July 30, 1927 to the late William and Mary (Gaffney) Kearns. She grew up in Taunton, MA where she attended local schools, met and married her husband Joe, and eventually moved to Westfield in 1966. Alice enjoyed spending time with friends and family, golfing, parades, reading Civil War history, and vacationing on Cape Cod. She was pre-deceased by her husband Joseph Comerford in 2005, and her two brothers William and John Kearns. She leaves a sister Mary E. Ryan of Stoughton a son Peter Comerford and his wife Roxi of Weymouth, her daughters Mary Duerkes and her husband Jim of Prescott, Arizona, Elizabeth Grimaldi and her husband Alessandro of Westfield, her grandchildren Naomi Comerford of Florida, Jarrod Jahoda of New York, Michael Grimaldi of Holyoke, Alessandra Connor and her husband Nicholas 0f Westfield and Joseph and Karly Grimaldi of Westfield. She also leaves her two great grandchildren Reid and Wyatt Connor. Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 9:30AM from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by a Mass at 10:30AM in St. Mary’s Church, Westfield. Burial will be private at Saint Francis Cemetery Taunton, MA. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
