WESTFIELD – Barbara L. Rooke, 79, of Westfield, MA, passed away peacefully in her home Wednesday, June 28, 2017 surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was born in Springfield, MA, February 18, 1938, daughter of Charles W. Stockwell and step-daughter of Mildred L. Stockwell, having been predeceased by her biological mother, Margaret G. Stockwell.  She married Norman G. Rooke in Southwick, MA on September 7, 1957 and celebrated 60 beautiful years of marriage in 2017. She leaves her loving husband Gary; her son, Kenneth N. Rooke; and daughters, Patricia J. Brown and husband, Warren A. Brown of Anchorage, Alaska; Theresa A. Fox and husband, Andrew T. Fox of Russell, MA; and Rebecca L. Rooke and husband, Juan A. Roman of Westfield, MA; her brother Bruce W. Stockwell  and wife, Sylvane Stockwell; four step-brothers, Louis and Gail Morse, Oren and Janice Morse, Wayne and Lynn Morse, and James and Adeline (Dolly) Morse; a step-aunt Dorothy Mable Hills; six grandchildren, Andrew T. Fox, Jr, Danielle A. Fox, Michael A. Brown, Haven F. Brown, Anthony M. Rooke, Emily L. Roman, Ashley A. Roman, Juan M. Roman, Jose R. Roman; and great grandchildren, Aria Roman and Mia Roman. Barbara Rooke showered her husband and family with unconditional love as her family was everything. She poured her entire life into her family and adored her grandchildren, dedicating countless hours to caring and encouraging them.  Her big heart was never so full as when celebrating life’s moments with her family.  She had an ever-present genuine smile and an abundance of comforting hugs to share. Barbara Rooke, a devoted member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Holyoke, MA and born-again Christian, loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She dedicated her life to serving Him and loved studying the bible and serving her church community as a Sunday School teacher; raising many children to love the Lord.  She ministered to others as a living example of Christ’s love.  She impacted hundreds of lives with love and compassion.  Her ability to make all feel welcomed and at ease was beyond admirable.   Barbara was a true gift from God and will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to know and love her.  Calling hours will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 9:00-11:00 am at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, Westfield, MA followed by a 12:00 pm Celebration of Life service at Mountain View Baptist Church, Holyoke, MA. Burial will be held in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield.
