Southwick-Charles A. Welch, 79, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in a local nursing home. He was born in Hartford, CT on March 10, 1937 to the late Charles and Edith (Burbank) Welch. He grew up in Westfield and was a 1956 graduate of Westfield High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and Airforce for 20 years. He worked at Hamilton Standard and Treadwell Corp both in CT. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed camping and snowmobiling. Charles leaves his wife of 55 years Sandra I (Clark) Welch, his son Scott C. Welch and his companion Sue Lacroix of Westfield, his daughter Kimberly L. Dougenik of Southwick, his mother in law Eleanor J. Clark of Westfield, his grandchildren Robert Dougenick and his fiancée Sarah Blanchard, Traci and Brian Dougenick, Kaitlin Welch and Paula Carboni and her husband Nico, his great-grandson Talon Carboni and his brother and sister in law Carol and David Letendre. He also leaves 4 nieces Renee Letendre, Dana and Mike Armstrong, Dale and Stan Miller and Leslie and Aiden Bale. The funeral and burial will be private.
