Claire A Savoy

West Springfield-Claire A.(Desabrais) Savoy, 65, died Friday, June 14, 2019 in Holyoke Medical Center. She was born in Westfield on December 20, 1953. She grew up in Russell and was a 1971 graduate of Gateway Regional High School. She received her Bachelors in Education from North Adams State College in 1975. Claire worked at Brightside in West Springfield in Special Education, was a courier for the Hartford Courant, worked for AAA in Hartford and West Springfield and was a dispatcher for Red’s Towing in West Springfield. She was quite a story teller and had a great sense of humor. She leaves her father Victor Desabrais of Westfield, MA, her brother Michael Desabrais and his wife Barbara of Hudson, FL, her sister Maureen “Reenie” Desabrais and her partner Sandy Ortega of Chicopee, MA, her nieces and nephews Nicole Gordon, Miki and Vick Desabrais, Jason and Brady Williams, 4 great nieces and nephews. She also leaves her lifelong friend Chan Chaturia, extended family and was pre-deceased by her mother Phyllis A. (Brady) Desabrais in 1995. Her funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 20th at 11 am in Holy Family Parish in Russell. Burial will follow in Russell Cemetery, followed by a reception at the VFW in Russell.
