Edward V. Vivier, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on December 23, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Ludlow to the late Edward L. and Helen (Brunelle) Vivier. Ed worked as a produce manager for 30 years at Waldbaum’s Foodmart and Randall’s Farm. He was also an equipment operator for Middlefield Highway Department, volunteer firefighter for Middlefield Fire Department, and he received his EMT certification. He worked on the Becket Ambulance and Otis Ambulance Squad. Ed was also on the Middlefield Finance Committee, Council on Aging, and a Constable for 10 years. Ed loved exercising, weight lifting, gardening, walks in the woods, and competed in the 2016 Iron Man Competition. He loved people and helping them in many ways, and when times were tough or something bad happened Ed’s advice was that it “Builds Character”. Ed touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 29 ½ years, Donna M. (Moreau) Vivier, his two loving children, Edward D. Vivier and his wife Kathy of Ludlow and Beth J. Vivier with Seth Lalli of Southwick, and his four cherished special granddaughters, Jackie Vivier, Breana Vivier, Brooke Waitt and Autumn Waitt. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA. Visiting hours will precede the service from 10-12 noon in the funeral home.
