Eustequio T. Matos

Eustequio T. Matos, 88, passed away on October 31, 2018 at Baystate Noble Hospital. He was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico to the late Jaquin Matos Rosario and Paula Torres Colon Matos. He worked for many years at HB Smith and Strathmore, before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, was a devoted catholic, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. Eustequio was predeceased by his beloved wife Santiaga L. Matos in September 2016 and is survived by his loving children, Myrna Escalante Matos of Cayey, P.R., Mercedes Mejias of Westfield, Olga Gonzalez of Westfield, Paula Estrada of Westfield, Jose Matos of Westfield, Willson Matos of Westfield, Leo Matos of Westfield, Eustequio Matos, Jr. Westfield, Anita Matos of Minneola, FL and William Matos of Westfield, 27 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 12:30 PM in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St. Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield. www.firtionadams.com
