Gary R Lassard

Westfield-Gary Ray Lassard (51) of Westfield, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield on February 5, 2018. He was the first baby born on January 1, 1967 in Holyoke Massachusetts and was the son of Esther Leona Lassard (Laporte) and Donald Lassard. Gary enjoyed the competition of football and spent his younger and teenage years participating in youth football and was the co-captain of his High School Team. An avid gardener with a big green thumb, he enjoyed working in the garden (and proudly wearing it), the larger the garden the better. He worked for many years at Tuckahoe Turf Farm and then on his own helping others with various projects and lawn care. Never one to sugar coat anything, he told it like it was, but to those that truly knew him, he did have a softer side. Along with his loving mother, he leaves his siblings, Donna Little, Ida Keane, Lisa Murray, Christopher Lassard, Sharon Lassard, Jean Mochak, Richard Lassard, April Lassard, and Matthew Lassard, as well as, 16 nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 2004. Calling hours for Gary will be held on Saturday February 10th from 11:30 am till 1:30 pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield.
