Hideko (Sacaguchi) McCarthy

Hideko “Deko” McCarthy, 88, passed away peacefully at the Orchard Valley in Wilbraham on Friday, August 30, 2019. She was born in Japan and met and married her husband, Francis J. McCarthy while he was in the service. Sadly he predeceased her in 1974. Hideko was self-employed as a seamstress since 1980 and was a longtime member of the Happy Hookers Craft Club in Westfield. She loved and cared for her family furiously with a grace only she possessed and will continue to in passing. She is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra A. Snape with Martin Caron of Palmer, her two grandsons, Zachary and Jacob Snape and a great grandson Zachary Snape, Jr. and two sisters in Japan. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM from Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by a Mass at 10:30AM in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St. Westfield. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7PM in the funeral home. www.firtionadams.com
