Isabel Helen (Mackay) Barcome

Isabel Helen (MacKay) Barcome, 86, of Westfield, MA passed away peacefully on April 3, 2018. Born May 4, 1931 in Boston to Duff MacKay of Scotland and Phyllis (Stout) MacKay of Shetland. She graduated from Girls’ Latin School in Boston, enjoyed playing basketball and kept many long friendships from there. She met and married G. Robert Barcome on September 11, 1954 and moved to Westfield in 1961. Isabel was very competitive with sports and games with anyone who would join her including badminton, scrabble, bridge, ping pong and tennis. She was an avid supporter and member of MADD. Her love was the book club and her bible study group which shared her strong belief system. She enjoyed travelling abroad, camping at Otis and Lake George and competing in the Senior Olympics. She was predeceased by her husband Bob in 1987, her daughter Liz in 1985, her daughter Lisa in 2004 and her very dear friend Charles Bohonowicz in 2017. She is survived by her daughter Lori Greaney and her friend Kevin Call, her son Rob Barcome and his wife Joy Barcome, her grandchildren Megan Annis and Matt Annis, Sarah Barcome Rodriguez and Joshua Rodriguez, Andrea Fusick and Mike Fusick, Brenda Rast, Emily Greaney and Chris LaBombard, Joseph Greaney, Jessica Barcome and Bill Gaudet. She also leaves her cherished great grandchildren Jack and Kate Fusick, Ellie LaBombard and Logan Annis.
