Maria L (Fitchet) Giordano

Westfield-Maria L. (Fitchet) Giordano, 51, died Thursday July, 12, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton, MA. She was born in Springfield on September 14, 1966. She grew up in Westfield attended local schools and was a 1984 graduate of Westfield High School. She was a preschool teacher at Mittineague Church in West Springfield for several years and then provided Day Care at her home for 12 years. She worked for Physical Therapy Partners in Westfield and most recently worked for Chicopee Riverbend Medical Group in the behavioral health dept. Maria was an avid reader and enjoyed the beach, traveling, hiking, biking and cooking. She leaves her husband of 25 years Steven J. Giordano and their son Zachary S. Giordano. She is predeceased by her mother, Rosalie M. Sabadosa Szarkowski of Westfield. She also leaves her step-father John Szarkowski of Westfield and Partner Denise Hills, her father David Fitchet and his wife Elaine of Springfield, her sister Susan McLaughlin and her husband Jay of Springfield and their children Michael, Ben and Steven, and her brother Jonathan Fitchet of Sturbridge and his son Camden. She also leaves her father- in-law Ronald Giordano and his wife Barbara of Feeding Hills, her mother- in-law Dianne Moreau and her husband Richard of Westfield, her brother-in-law Dan Giordano and his wife Jeannie of Feeding Hills and children Christopher and Robert Fontaine, brother-in–law David Giordano of Pollack Pines, CA. and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 18th from 4-7 at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. The funeral and burial will be private.
