Marilyn J. (McGrath) Fredette, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 18, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fitchburg, MA to the late Armand and Rose (Gionet) McGrath. Marilyn was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church in Westfield, active in the Bible study and prayed for everyone she knew, even those she didn’t know.  She was a “master” knitter, loved to sew, bake, cook and garden. She also enjoyed genealogy and traveling, going to the Holy Land, Philippines, Europe and California to name a few. Sadly she was predeceased by her beloved husband Edmund L. Fredette, her brother Norman McGrath and a grandson, Owen Fredette. Marilyn is survived by her six loving children, Christine R. Bodurtha and her husband Stephen of Fitchburg, MA, Paula M. Fredette of Boynton Beach, FL., Elaine L. Kalhori and her husband Michael Bergeron of Wilton, NH, Thomas E. Fredette and his wife Cathleen of Westfield, Albert R. Fredette and his wife Elizabeth of Wakefield, R.I. and John E. Fredette and his wife Debbie of Vista, CA, her cherished thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Marilyn’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 29, at 12:15PM in St. Peter’s Church, 34 State St. Westfield, She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony next to her husband in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9:45-11:45AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA. www.firtionadams.com
