Mildred S. (Yefko) Young, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Governor’s Center. She was born in Westfield to the late Joseph and Leokadia (Romanowski) Yefko and was a 1943 graduate of Westfield High School. She worked at Cantell’s Grocery Store during high school and for a while after. She then worked as a clerk for Foster Machine and for Bryant Machine. Mildred retired in 1987 from Mini Food Baskets in Westfield after many years. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield and their Rosary Society. Mildred is survived by her nieces, Janice Yefko, Nancy Yefko, Theresa Kinlock, A. Jackie Sienkiewicz and Patricia Dion and her nephew Michael Yefko, her sister-in-law Jean Yefko, great nephew, Anthony Biladeau, who lived with her during the summers, great niece Yin Yefko (Michael’s daughter) and many other great nieces and great nephews. She was predecease by her brothers, Edward Yefko and William Yefko and her sisters, Josephine Baldyga, Sophie McBrien and Leocadia. Many thanks to Tracy Mazza, her beloved friend, and Donna and Stacy, her caregivers for the love and support given to Mildred. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, with a service at 10:30AM in Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield.
