Richard N. Vecchiarelli, 83, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Springfield to the late Angelo and Angelina (Santaniello) Vecchiarelli. Richard owned and operated Cindex Industries Incorporated in Ludlow for 35 years. He was an avid car collector and enjoyed cross country skiing. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Therese M. (Craven) Vecchiarelli, and thirteen loving children, Carleen Coelho and her husband Richard, Virginia Deriaz and her husband Stephane, Andrea Hildalgo and her husband Jorge, Kenneth Vecchiarelli and his wife Robin, Pamela Fitzpatrick and her husband Michael, Michael Vecchiarelli, William Vecchiarelli, Celeste Vecchiarelli, Neil Vecchiarelli and his wife Brenda, Timothy Vecchiarelli and his wife Monique, Kateri Markelonis and her husband Brian and Jonathan Vecchiarelli and his wife Jennifer, thirty grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, His sisters, Gloria Wachowiak of Enfield, CT, Mary Longo of East Longmeadow and Veronica LaSalandra of Enfield, CT,and a brother Robert Vecchiarelli of Colorado. He was predeceased by a daughter Loretta Vecchiarelli and a sister Teresa Joseph. Richards’s funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:30AM from the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by a Mass at 9:30AM in Holy Trinity Church, Elm St. Westfield. Burial will follow the Mass in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Main St. Agawam, MA 01001. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home.
