Robert E. Matyseck, Sr.

Robert E. Matyseck, Sr., 76, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at home. He was born in Westfield to the late Edmond and Marjorie (Dustin) Matyseck and was a graduate of Westfield Schools. Robert served his country with the United States Army from 1960-1963 and attained the rank of Specialist 4th Class. He worked for many years as a supervisor for Decorated Products in Westfield. Robert was an avid New York Yankees fan, Dallas Cowboys fan and most recently a Manchester City fan. He also enjoyed going to NASCAR races with his son, Bill. Mostly Robert loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra A. (Mitchell) Matyseck of Westfield, his loving children, Robert E. Matyseck, Jr of Orlando, FL, William P. Matyseck of Westfield and Patricia A. LaPointe of Huntington, MA, and his three cherished grandchildren, Michael LaPointe, Zack LaPointe both of Holyoke and Brandon LaPointe of Huntington. Robert also leaves his three brothers Roy Matyseck and his wife Linda of Torrington, CT, Marc Matyseck with Denise of Maryland and Edmond Matyseck and his wife Judy of Westfield, his brother-in-law Francis Mitchell and his wife Barbara of Westfield, sisters-in-law, Sandra Matyseck of Westfield and Mary Matyseck of California. He was predeceased by two brothers, David Matyseck and Paul Matyseck. Robert’s funeral will be held on Thursday at 10AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad St. with a funeral service at 11AM. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lockhouse Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours for Robert will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield. www.firtionadams.com
