Robert W. Sienko, 62, of Greenfield, MA was surrounded by his loving family as he was called home to God on Thursday, October 24th after a short illness. Robert (affectionately known as “Bob”) was born in West Springfield, MA on May 6, 1957 and is the son of Julia J. Sienko from Newport Richey, FL, and the late Theodore V. Sienko also of Newport Richey, FL. Shortly after graduating from West Springfield High School, Bob enlisted in the Navy where he served four years in Avionics as a Petty Officer. After receiving an Honorable discharge, he then attended Springfield Technical Community College. Prior to his retirement in 2016, Bob had a career that spanned over 19 years as an employee of Verizon. He is survived by his sister Linda Ledbury of Newport Richey, FL, his brother Theodore Sienko and wife Maureen of Saratoga Springs, NY, and brother Gregory Sienko and wife Lorena of Westfield, MA. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob also leaves behind his beloved pup Calley who has given him many years of love and companionship. Bob’s many interests included photography, watching sports, and collecting movies. He was also an avid history buff with an extensive collection of books and movies on American history. He also cherished time with family, friends, and members of his church. Along with a kind heart and an uplifting demeanor, Bob possessed an unshakable faith in the Lord with a strong belief that God loves and watches over everyone regardless of who they are and where they are in life. His faith guided him through his illness with much fortitude while expressing solace for loved ones hence, asking them not to mourn his passing rather, celebrate his life and his journey to the Kingdom of God. Our dear Bob, your absence will leave a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. We will always admire you and remember your courage and strength. We love and miss you. Until we meet again… A Funeral Home Service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA followed by burial with Military Honors in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. A Visiting hour will preceded the service from 9-10 AM in the funeral home.
