Westfield-Rolland V. “Turk” Turcotte, 87, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Easthampton, MA on December 17, 1931 to the late Vidal F. and Priscilla (Breault) Turcotte. He was a 1950 graduate of Westfield Trade High School, was a navy veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS James C. Owens, received the Bronze Star, the Navy Occupational Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a skilled machinist and driver for B&E Tool for 61 years. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield. He was the band leader of the Reveleers Orchestra, a popular band of polish American music. He was a chief range officer of the Westfield Sportsman’s Club, the membership secretary and a lifetime member. Turk was also a firearms dealer and a member of the NRA. He leaves his loving wife of 66 years Janet M. (Tobias) Turcotte, his children Bruce R. Turcotte of Southwick and Karen Janet McCarty and her husband Robert McCarty of East Longmeadow, his grandchildren Jacob Robert McCarty of Stonington, ME and Caitlin Janet McCarty of East Longmeadow. He was pre-deceased by his sister Bernice Morris. He was a dedicated father and friend and enjoyed driving his 1931 Ford convertible. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday June 14th at 10:30 am in St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield from 4-7 pm.
