My Dad worked with Ziggy in the meat department at Cantells. I met him at a very young age of about 4 or 5. I had a really big crush on him. I have carried that childhood memory for years now and was amazed to see that he was only 15 years older than I when he passed ~ being so young he seemd so “old” at the time. I remember how liked he was when I was growing up. Never heard anything bad about him. I am so very sorry for your loss and that I didn’t connect with him over the years to share my memories. I’m smiling thinking about him….Rest in peace.

One of the things I enjoyed most when I came to Westfield on leave from the Military and later the US Govt was to stop by the Butcher Shop to see Ronnie and pick up something great for my mother to prepare for dinner or meat for cold cut grinders. I have extolled the greatness of the Butcher Shop everywhere I have lived across the US because NO WHERE was there a meat market that compared or a businessman you trusted more than Ronnie. He was a consummate gentleman! After my own "uncle Ziggy", Ronnie's brother Walt, passed away it was even more important because I felt like I was in the presence of both men. Please accept my sincere sympathies on Ronnie' passing and know he more than earned his rightful place in Heaven.
