Rosetta A Grimm

Rosetta A. Grimm, 79, of Holyoke, died Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry J. Grimm. She was born July 29, 1939 in Lowell, MA to Marshall and Elizabeth Fish. Rosetta was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church of Westfield, a member of the NEA, MTA and The Springfield Teachers Association. She received her undergraduate degree from Elms College, a Master’s degree in Education from Westfield State College, and then continued her education at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Rosetta devoted her life to the education of children. She worked as an elementary teacher for the Springfield Public School system from 1987 until 1992, and as a Staff Development Coordinator before serving as principal at Beverly L. Larrabee, William E. Norris, and Hiram Dorman Elementary School until she retired in 2001. She is survived by her brother, Walter Fish and wife Michelle of Maine, two nephews, three stepchildren, six step grandchildren, and twelve step great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by the thousands of former students she loved and educated over the course of her career, her beloved friends and staff from Providence Place, and her dear friend and caregiver Angie. She was predeceased by her sister, Sr. Mary Rosalma Fish and her brother Marshall Edward Fish Jr. The funeral will be held Friday at 1:00PM from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by the burial at the Massachusetts Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours will be from 12:30 – 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rosetta’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
