Teresa H. (Lawyer) Cheal

Southwick MA – Teresa H. (Lawyer) Cheal, 97, of Southwick died Wednesday May 9, 2018 in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born on October 3, 1920 in Watertown, NY daughter of the late Andrew E. and Helen D. (Mance) Lawyer. Teresa graduated from Brownville Glen Park High School in 1939 and worked for the Bell Telephone Company in Watertown, NY. and Louisville, KY. She was a member of the Home Bureau, the Glen Park Fire Dept., Auxiliary, the Alter and Rosary Society of Immaculate Conception Church in Brownville and the Board of Election in Brownville. Teresa married Howard F. Cheal on January 31, 1942. Howard passed away in 2005. She leaves her daughter, Carolyn M. (Cheal) Laptik and her husband Richard of Southwick, MA, two granddaughters Taunya Jeffries and her husband Ryan of Colchester, CT. and Kendra Shogren and her husband Bryan of East Hampton, CT. Teresa also leaves her three great grandchildren, Ella and Ruby Jeffries and Lucy Shogren. The funeral will be Saturday May 12, 2018 at 11 AM from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service 76 Broad St. Westfield,MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Lake Church in Southwick at 12 Noon. Burial will be Friday May 18th at 12 Noon in Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, NY. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W.
