Angel D Rivera Ruiz

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Angel David Rivera-Ruiz, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Angel left this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on March 2025 at the age of 67. Born on September 17, 1957, Angel was a dedicated family man, always putting the needs and happiness of his loved ones above all else. He leaves behind his current partner, best friend, and first wife, Gloria Rivera, who was by his side through many of life’s milestones. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Jeannette and Daniel Rivera. Angel's bond with his family was deep, and he shared a special relationship with his daughter-in-law Amadis Rivera, and his grandkids: Zion (10), Oaklynn (7), and Jacob (3), who brought him endless joy. Angel also raised three beautiful children with his second wife, Catherine; Marc, Lianna, & Mathew Rivera, and was a proud grandfather of Mathew’s two children Gabriel (17) and Kiara (13). His love for his grandchildren was unwavering, and he cherished his time spent with them. Angel was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Josefa but he is survived by his older brother Ramon Rivera-Ruiz, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will deeply miss his warmth, guidance, and presence. Throughout his life, Angel found joy in simple pleasures, including traveling, watching movies, sports, and spending time outdoors. He was always eager to lend a handy hand to his friends and family and share his adventures, whether it was kayaking, fishing, traveling to waterfalls, or a tropical cruise. His passion for life and learning was evident. His laughter, kindness, and wisdom will be missed by all who knew him. Angel's family will forever remember him for his love, hard work, ingenuity, and sense of humor. His legacy of care and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call him family and friend. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Angel's life at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St. Westfield on Monday 3/24 from 9:30-10:30am followed by a Mass at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd. Westfield at 11:00am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Flowers and memorial donations are welcome.
