Ann M. Sgrignari

Ann M. Sgrignari (Phelon) of Westfield, MA passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center on January 6th, 2025 with family by her side. Ann was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend. As a young adult, she received a secretarial degree from STCC, served in the Army Reserves, and went to school for court reporting. For the past 23 years she supported many individuals through her career at Mass DDS, with her final role being financial coordinator. Ann had a strong zest for life with a vibrant spirit and the sense of humor you would expect from a farm girl with older brothers. In her younger years she enjoyed activities like tennis and skiing. Throughout the years she continued to find sources of joy through dancing to live music, celebrating her Irish heritage, being active in the 4-H and fair community, giving back to others, partaking in any shenanigans with her beloved friends, and making her annual family trip to lake George which yielded many great memories and laughs. Above all, she cherished any time spent with her daughters. Ann will be deeply missed by her daughters Christine (Scott Burnham) Sgrignari and Nicole (Mike Capozziello) Sgrignari, siblings Lenny Phelon, Jack  Phelon, Bill (Sue) Phelon, Eugene (Susie) Bartley, Paula Bartley, and sister-in-law Sheila Phelon, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (Sheehan) Phelon and Leonard Phelon, stepmother Vera (Klimchak) Phelon, siblings Mary and Jim Phelon, and nephew Tim Phelon. Ann’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her friend Pam Pope and son Ryan for their incredible gift of organ donation, which gave her the freedom to truly enjoy the time she had left with her loved ones.

Services will be held at Firtion Adams in Westfield with calling hours Friday from 4-7pm and funeral Mass 10am Saturday morning at St. Peter & St. Casimir Parish followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
