Westfield-Anthony J Ferreira 74, died Monday, January 17, 2022. He grew up in Ludlow, attended local schools and was a graduate of Ludlow High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He received his Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in Education from Westfield State College. Tony was a teacher in the Agawam Schools for 34 years until his retirement in 2007. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield. He spent his free time with his children and his best friends, his grandchildren. Tony never enjoyed anything more than coaching, watching, and supporting his daughters and most recently his grandchildren from the sidelines. He spent hours playing with them every day. Whether it was catch in the backyard, basketball in the driveway, or blowing bubbles into the wind, he enjoyed every minute of his time with them. As an avid Patriots fan, he made sure to never miss a game. Tony was pre-deceased by the love of his life, his wife Diane (Shea) Ferreira on July 1, 1999. He leaves his children Kristyn Hurley and her husband Eric, Jill Knights and her husband Andrew, grandchildren Shea and Jason Hurley, and Jameson and Beckham Knights. He also leaves his sister Christine Arthur and her husband John, his brother-in-law Gary Shea and his wife Pat, their children Stephen and Aaron, and his sister-in-law Deborah Shea and her husband Lou.
