Aprille Ann (Godwin) Thomas

Aprille Ann (Godwin) Thomas, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Agawam North Rehab and Nursing. She was born in Herkimer, New York to the late Lloyd and Elizabeth Godwin.

Thomas was a 1959 graduate of Winchester High School in Winchester, MA. She received an Associates Degree in Accounting in 1961 from Dean College in Franklin, MA. She was the owner of Custom Window Treatments since 1981 and took great pride in her craft, adding beauty to many homes and businesses in the area. She also worked as an accountant for over 25 years where her attention to detail was always appreciated.

In her younger years, Aprille enjoyed playing tennis, crocheting and doing puzzles. A devoted animal lover, she rescued many dogs and cats throughout the years, giving them a safe and loving home. She also volunteered with Grandmother’s Garden in Westfield, MA, where she enjoyed being part of the community.

Sadly, Aprille was predeceased by her beloved husband William C. Thomas in 2004 and by her brother Robert C. Godwin. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Laurel A. Carey of Lexington, MA and Linda A. Groom and her husband George of Agawam, a brother Stan Godwin and his wife Sandra of Leicester, NC, her cherished grandchildren, Ciara Beltran and her husband Eugene of San Diego, CA, Brandon Groom and his wife Jessica of Ludlow, and Trevor Carey and his wife Grace of Gloucester, MA and two great grandchildren, Brody Groom and Nalani Beltran.
