Arthur Foresi Obituary

Arthur D. Foresi, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center after a period of declining health. He was surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Arthur was born in Springfield, MA on November 16, 1940, the son of the late Ottavio and Julia (Biagiotti) Foresi. Arthur attended Cathedral High School and graduated in 1958. After graduating, he began his business career at MassMutual Life Insurance Company, starting in the mailroom and steadily advancing into management. He eventually became Senior Vice President of the Individual Line-New Business Division. Throughout his ascent, he pursued further education at Western New England College in the evenings, earning both his bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in business, a testament to his strong work ethic and dedication. Art was universally liked and respected by associates in both the Home Office and Field, retiring from MassMutual after 42 years of loyal service. Art married his wife Halina in May of 1968. A devoted family man, he cherished spending time with his wife and children, David and Andrea. They enjoyed numerous family trips to Cape Cod, Disney World, and traveled the country together for business meetings. Art was an integral part of a close-knit neighborhood community, known for his camaraderie, cooperation, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He also enjoyed friendly card games with neighbors and friends, often lightening the mood with his quick wit and sense of humor. Following retirement, Art and Halina spent many enjoyable years as snowbirds, traveling to Marco Island with close friends. In his later years, Art found immense joy in his grandchildren, Jackson and Ava. He delighted in reading, playing games, and sharing quality time with them. Art was a loyal fan of college and Boston sports teams and relished dining out at local eateries. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield, volunteering his time on the Parish Council and serving on the school board at St. Mary’s High School in Westfield. Additionally, Art proudly served in the Army and Air Force National Guards. Art is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Halina Foresi of Southwick, MA; his loving children David and his wife Robin Foresi of Henderson, NV, and Andrea and her husband Joseph Fiore of Southwick, MA; his cherished grandchildren, Jackson and Ava Fiore; as well as his brother-in-law Casimir and wife Julie Janocha of South Hadley, MA, along with his nieces, nephews, and many close friends. He was predeceased by his sister Lucille (Foresi) Montagna and her husband Richard Montagna.
