Bob Timmerman, 67, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 1, 2022. He was born in Deventer, Netherlands on October 9, 1954 to Hilligje (Zwiers) Timmerman and the late Hein Timmerman. Bob served in the United States Army from 1973-1976 as an aircraft hydraulic repairman. He was employed by the City of Springfield as a mechanic for the Springfield Police Department, for the park and Rec Department and many other departments. His family was his world, especially his granddaughters. Bob enjoyed tinkering around the house with his son and enjoyed doing small engine repair. Bob is survived by his loving son, Nicholas Timmerman and his wife Sarah of Westfield, his four cherished granddaughters, Heaven, Madelynne, Ashlind, and Evelyn, his devoted mother Hilligje Timmerman of Enfield, CT, a brother Anjo Timmerman and his wife Lou of Maine, three sisters, Anita Barnes of Southwick, Jacoba Bauckman of Enfield, CT, and Helen Boivin and her husband John of Vermont, as well as many loving nieces and nephews and extended family. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. At Bob’s request, t-shirts and jeans or casual dress for the visiting hours, come comfortable in his memory. Burial will be private in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. www.firtionadams.com
