Brittany Casassa, 37, of Westfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully after a courageous three-year battle with cancer Monday, June 2, 2025. A strong, loving, and compassionate woman, Brittany faced her illness with grace, courage, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone around her.
Born in Manchester, Connecticut, Brittany was the beloved daughter of Rita Casassa (Liszewski) and Andrew Casassa of Westfield, MA. She graduated from Granby Memorial High School in 2006 and later went on to pursue her passion as a florist, bringing beauty into the lives of countless others. Her incredible green thumb and deep love for plants and flowers were matched only by her talent in the kitchen. Brittany was an avid baker, cook, and gardener who found joy in nurturing others through her creations—especially the hundreds of Christmas cookies she made each year to share with loved ones.
For over five years, Brittany shared her life and love with her devoted partner, Austin Redden and his beautiful, loving family. Her warmth and joy extended deeply into her family. She was a cherished sister to Courtney Shanley and Kailey Parlow, and a beloved sister-in-law to Sean Shanley and Justin Parlow. Brittany adored her nieces and nephew—Emma Parlow, Madison Shanley, Kelsey Shanley, and Leo Parlow —and took every opportunity to spoil them with love, laughter, and unforgettable holiday traditions. She made every celebration magical, leaving memories that will last a lifetime.
Brittany’s generosity was boundless. Whether through a home-cooked meal, a handmade gift, or a simple act of kindness, she gave freely to anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. She lived with an open heart, always putting others before herself, and her spirit will live on in the lives she so deeply touched.
Brittany is survived by her loving parents, Rita and Andrew Casassa of Westfield, and her cherished partner, Austin Redden. She leaves behind her sisters, Courtney Shanley and Kailey Parlow; brothers-in-law, Sean Shanley and Justin Parlow; and her cherished nieces and nephew: Emma Parlow (5), Madison Shanley (3), Kelsey Shanley (3), and Leo Parlow (3). Brittany will also be deeply missed by extended family and many dear friends whose lives were brightened by her generous spirit.
Calling hours will be at Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street Westfield, Massachusetts on Saturday June 7, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 pm. A service for the celebration of Brittany’s life will follow.
