Candace W. McGinn age 82 left this world on February 7, 2026 to reunite with family and friends in the realm of Spirit, where we know she was greeted with great love.
Candace was predeceased by her loving sister Pamela Wonson Pease and her husband Howard Pease of Westfield, her nephew Chip Patnode of South Carolina, her stepmother Edna Wonson, as well as her parents.
A lifetime resident of Westfield, Candace was born on April 29, 1943 to parents Rosamond Smith Wonson and Dr. John F Wonson, a beloved and respected doctor in the town of Westfield.
Candace was a graduate of Westfield High School, later married and became a devoted mother and homemaker. Her love of people drew her to a career in the hospitality business where she worked at East Mountain Country Club in Westfield for over 30 years. She was welcomed into the Perez family business there and went on to create lifelong friendships with many of its regular patrons. She was known for her upbeat attitude, her outgoing personality, her kindness towards others and her gift of gab. Over the years, Candy developed a great appreciation for the game of golf. She would look forward each year to the Larry Carnes Memorial Golf Tournament which was held in honor of her dear friend. Candy was also a devoted and diehard fan of the Patriots and would never miss a game.
Candy will always be remembered and cherished by her family and friends for her selfless and kind nature. She loved her beloved kitties and gave to many charities to help animals in need. Her strength and courage were beyond measure and carried her through the toughest of challenges in her life.
The most treasured thing in Candy’s life by far, was her family. Her love for them was unwavering and immeasurable. She would often comment on how blessed she was and never took them for granted. They will all miss her greatly.
Candace leaves behind her two children; Robert J. McGinn IV, Jill McGinn of Westfield, her grandson Evan McGinn of Worcester, her niece Rebecca Swords and husband Keith of Westfield, her niece Tracy Lavender and husband Scott of Cape Cod and her nephew Jeremy Pease and wife Erin of Southwick.
