Carol A (Ritter) Bernardara

Southwick-Carol A (Ritter) Bernardara, passed away on July 16, 2024. Carol was born on October 6, 1941 to the late Charles and Eleanor (Markevitch) Ritter. She was raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. and graduated from Fort Hamilton High School. She worked in Brooklyn N.Y. vacationing in Congamond Lake in Southwick, MA. She met her husband to be Frank Bernardara and were married on December 3. 1960. They had 3 children and raised them in Southwick and then moved to Westfield. Frank opened his successful machine shop. Carol worked at the drum shop in Granville, Columbia Bike and then became secretary with her husband’s shop. Carol enjoyed her visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and trips to the beach with her daughters. She leaves her children Michael Bernardara, Lisa Clendenin and Lynn Janik, grandchildren Nicholl, Jennifer, John, Kelly, Mark, Molly, Miranda, Thomas Jr. and Brooke and 10 great-grandchildren. Carol was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2011 and her brother Charles Ritter in 2007. There will be a graveside service in Pine Hill Cemetery on Western Avenue in Westfield on Saturday July 20th at 1:30 pm.
