Carol A. Colson, 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Westfield to the late Walter C. and Marlene A. (Carmel) Stober. She was employed as the head material handler in the box department for Old Colony Envelope Company for 32 years and she then went to work for Savage Arms as a warehouse technician for 10 years, and retired in 2023 and her work ethic was unmatched. Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren, and entertaining. Family meant the world to her. She was truly the “Hostess with the Mostess”. She also loved to travel to the Caribbean, spending time on the beaches. She lived to shop and surely was going to get the best bargain always. She enjoyed her pool with family and friends on nice, sunny summer days. She loved to cook and was great at it and was best known dish was her famous lasagna. She was filled with love, light, laughter and had the most beautiful smile. Whether family, friend or co-worker Carol always believed in being selfless, kind, loving and above all else giving. Carol is survived by her beloved life partner of 35 years, James Snide of Westfield, her loving children, Cheryl L. Guisti of Westfield, Tina M. Colson of Huntington, Kelley A. Colson of Westfield and Ryan J. Snide and his wife Jarelin of Westfield, her cherished 8 grandchildren, Anthony, Leilani, Aubrianna, Alexander, Jonathan, Angelo, Marielani and Asher and her 6 great grandchildren, Kaydence, Aiden, Cheyenne, Lena, Evan and Kody. Carol also leaves her siblings, Walter Stober of Westfield, Cynthia Stober of Westfield, Deborah Stober of Westfield, Kenneth Stober of Montgomery, Karen Stober of Springfield and Jeffrey Stober of Westfield. Visiting hours for Carol will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1-3PM in the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085 followed by a funeral home service at 3PM in the funeral home.
