Charles Ellsworth Petschke (Jr.) was born to Charles Petschke Sr. and his wife Winnifred (Devins) on July 23, 1951 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Charlie grew up in Springfield and West Springfield, and in 1972, married the love of his life, Rebecca (Becky) Paine. Charlie spent much of his career working for General Fiber Box (later Longview Fiber) in West Springfield. He earned a series of Steam Plant Engineer licenses and oversaw facilities in West Springfield, Turners Falls, and Holyoke. Early in his life Charlie drove a 1970 Plymouth AAR ‘Cuda and raced regularly at Lebanon Valley Speedway in New York. His lifelong interests included firearms, computers, and enjoying favorite meals with family. Charlie was generous, loved humor, and was Rodney Dangerfield’s all-time greatest fan. Charlie leaves behind his sister Katherine and close family friend Pat Cocozza, son Robert and wife Pamela, son Matthew and his wife Melissa, three grandchildren, Allesandra, Aaron, and Jess, and a great-grandson, Greyson.
