Chester E Danek Jr.

HUNTINGTON – Chester E. Danek, Jr., 67, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 7, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1958 in Springfield. He was the 5th of seven children born of Chester E. Danek, Sr., and Dolores R. Zuchowski Danek. Chester graduated from Granby High School in 1976. He went on to Springfield Technical Community College obtaining an Associates Degree in Electronic Benchwork Technology in 1978. He was on the Dean’s list all two years. He worked at Hillside Electronics, Worthington, MA as an Electronic / Mechanical Trouble-shoot and Repair Technician for 22 years. He retired in 2018. His favorite hobbies were photography and hiking. What he loved the most was spending time with his family, celebrating with them important events in their lives and holidays while taking photographs capturing the beauty of the moment. He is predeceased by his infant sister Dori Ann and his mother Dolores R. Danek. In addition to his father Chester E. Danek, Sr., of Granby, MA, Chester is survived by five siblings: Frances Couture and her husband Roger of Mooresville, NC; Ray Danek of Mastic Beach, NY; Mark Danek of Lexington, NC; John Danek and his wife Tere of Holyoke, MA; and Teresa Danek Meyer of Brewster, MA. He was also survived by his nieces and nephews: Christina Silva Orciari, Roger Couture, Jr., Nicole Wrobleski, Kelly, Sarah, and Allison Danek, Johnathan J. Danek, Christian Meyer, great-nephews: Nicholas Silva, Travis Cobey and great-nieces: Lillian Danek and Serenity Danek. Calling hours for Chester will be Wednesday, April 16 from 3–5pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. A private burial will be held on Thursday, April 17th at Mater Dolorosa Cemetary, South Hadley, MA. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Shriner’s Hospital.
