Cynthia S (Grill) Thurston

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beautiful Cynthia (Cindy) Sue Thurston(Grill). Cindy passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Cindy was a wonderful person by all accounts. She was born in Cleveland Ohio, with her family moving to Connecticut as a young child. Not long after, Cindy’s family relocated to Brookfield, MA. Cindy graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School, where she excelled in track and field. Cindy married her husband Lee in 1982 and October would have made 43 years. She leaves behind her beloved husband and Babers, Lee M. Thurston, her daughter, Aubrey JoAnn Thurston, her son Lee M. Thurston Jr and partner Hilary Sherwood, as well as 3 sisters, Debbie Jennison, brother in law Jonathan Jennison, Amy Porter, her sister Missy, nieces and nephews. Cindy was an animal lover, specifically her horse Domino, and her many beloved family dogs throughout her years. She rode Domino beautifully. They were best friends. She competed in cross country, stadium, jumping and dressage. Cindy enjoyed collecting cookbooks, and was always willfully in charge of cooking the best meals, going the extra mile on all holidays, special occasions, or a simple night of playing the card game, rummy. Cindy enjoyed many vacations with her family and husband at the Ashworth By the Sea Hotel in Hampton Beach, NH. Cindy would only accept the ocean front balcony view. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and her legacy will be remembered and smiled upon for years to come. To the moon and back again a bazillion times, here’s hoping. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 6:30PM, with visiting hours to precede the service from 4-6:30PM in Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street Westfield, MA 01085. www.firtionadams.com
