David Charles Paterson, 64, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. David was deeply dedicated to both his family and his beliefs. He was a lifelong member of Boy Scout Troop 101, his commitment to the Boy Scouts and the values it instilled remained a defining part of his life. David proudly served in the U.S. Army for eight years as a Military Police Officer, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. His military service and dedication to duty were a testament to his strong character and commitment to others. David loved his children, Robert, Michael, and Emily, and was immensely proud of their accomplishments. His grandchildren, Sophie, Rhett, Fionna, Ivy and Charlotte, brought him great joy and he treasured every moment spent with them. David also had a deep passion for family genealogy, a pursuit he enjoyed with his sister, Deb, as they uncovered stories of their heritage. He was predeceased by his parents, Barbara Jean Paterson and Charles Ernest Paterson. He is survived by his siblings: Eric (Pamela), Deborah (Don), Brian (Kristen) and Andy; his children, Robert (Susie), Michael (Hannah) and Emily; his grandchildren, Sophie, Rhett, Fionna, Ivy and Charlotte. A burial with full military honors will be held at the Veterans Cemetery, 1390 Main St, Agawam, MA, on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM.
