It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Bishop, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on April 3, 2026, at the age of 80.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Janice Bishop, who will miss him deeply and honor his memory every day. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Scott Bishop and his wife, Heather (Duso) Bishop, along with Heather’s children, Liam and Desmond; his daughter, Melissa (Bishop) Kukucka and her partner, Christopher Mazuroski; his cherished granddaughter, Delaney Kukucka and her partner, Zachary McKenna. He was predeceased by his first-born son, Jeffrey Alan Bishop.
Donald lived a life defined by his love for family, a deep appreciation for nature, and the quiet joys of time spent outdoors. Above all else, he cherished his family. As a husband, he was a loyal partner and steady presence. As a father, he offered guidance, patience, and encouragement. As a grandfather, he found endless pride and happiness in the life of his granddaughter, always ready with a story, a smile, or a helping hand.
He felt most at home near the water. The ocean held a special place in his heart, where he could watch the waves, breathe the salty air, and reflect on life’s simple blessings. He also loved the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing—traditions he often shared with his family. Whether casting a line at sunrise or walking quietly through the woods, those moments brought him peace and joy.
He will be remembered for his kindness, steady spirit, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His family will forever carry his lessons, his laughter, and the many memories made together—by the water, in the woods, and around the table. Though he is no longer with us, the legacy of his love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 18, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow.
