Dorothy V. (Mann) Funaro

Dorothy V. (Mann) Funaro, 87, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in South Hadley to the late Everett and Viola (Bernier) Mann. Dottie received an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Holyoke Community College. She worked as a paraprofessional for the Westfield public schools for many years retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield, a member and past officer of the Blessed Sacrament Rosary Sodality, a CCD teacher and a recipient of the Pope Pius Award in 1999. Dottie had a passion for travel with Disneyworld  holding a special place in her heart. She was affectionately called BAM by her grandchildren which then became how she was known to all.  Dottie was predeceased by her beloved husband John S. Funaro in 1999 and a brother Nelson E. Mann, two sisters Joyce  Sandford and Barbara Record. She is survived by her six loving children, John  Funaro of West Springfield, Christine  Craig (Ronald) of Venice, FL, Linda Egan (Richard) of Westfield, Dianne  Smith (Thomas) of Westfield, JoAnn Graydon (Steve) of Huntington and Jacqueline T. Funaro of Westfield, a sister Shirley Dudeck of Longmeadow, a brother-in-law Dr. George Funaro of Maryland, her cherished fourteen grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Tyler, Gabriel, Nicholas, Anna, Brittany, Kyle, Ryan, Neal, Hannah, Joseph, Samuel and Dominic and thirteen great grandchildren, and one on the way. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 9AM from the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street. Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM n Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Rd. Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5-7 PM in the funeral home.
