Eric J. Hurley

Eric J. Hurley, 46, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2024. He was raised in Westfield, graduating from Westfield High School in 1997 and Westfield State University in 2001, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He had recently retired from the CT Department of Correction in 2023. Eric was the ultimate family man, prioritizing his wife and children above all else. He made it clear that his family was first and foremost in his life. Eric was excitedly looking forward to these very important upcoming years with his children as they were making decisions about their futures. He was an extremely proud and supportive father. Eric was involved in various youth sports organizations, coaching teams for both his daughter and son. If he wasn’t coaching, he could always be heard avidly cheering from the sideline. He enjoyed supporting his Boston sports teams, attending many Patriots and Red Sox games with family and friends. Eric was an avid outdoorsman, spending lots of time fishing, hiking and riding his quad. He enjoyed vacationing with both his immediate and extended family as well as attending concerts with family and friends. Eric was an extremely well-respected and hard-working man. Eric leaves behind his wife of 20 years, his one true love and high school sweetheart, Kristyn, as well as his daughter Shea and son Jason. He is survived by his parents, Andrew and Cindy Hurley, but was predeceased by his in-laws Diane and Anthony Ferreira. Eric leaves behind his sister Crystal St.Germain, her husband Mark, and their children Jaelyn and Landan. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Jill Knights, her husband Andrew, and their sons Jameson and Beckham. Eric leaves behind his grandfather Robert LePage but was predeceased by his grandmother Gail. He is survived by many loving family members and friends. The funeral and burial are private.
