Ernest Hill Jr, 81, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025 surrounded by family. Ernie was born to the late Ernest and Mabel Hill in Springfield, Ma on September 21, 1943.Ernie graduated from South Hadley High School and then went on to become and ordained minister later in life. He was a hardworking individual who worked as a salesman at various companies. After retiring from sales, he went back to work as a security guard at Liberty Security where he remained right up until his passing. Ernie loved the lord and had a passion for Jail Ministry and sharing his faith with others. He also enjoyed fishing, going out for coffee with his friends, attending tag sales and dressing up in his festive red suit for Christmas. Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gene Hill, his children Dawn Matthews and her husband Benjamin Matthews, Myra Ahern and her husband Marc Ahern, grandchildren Jacob and Nyx Matthews and his grand fur baby Magnus Ahern. There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, April 17th, 2025, at New Day Church, 880 Suffield Street, Agawam MA 01001.
