Dr. Eugene L. Siurek, Jr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at home. He was born in Gary, Indiana to Evelyn (Sanders) Siurek and the late Eugene L. Siurek, Sr. Gene was a graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor’s of science in Microbiology. He continued his studies at Indiana University obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He was a partner in the dental practice of Drs. Mackler and Siurek in West Springfield for many years. He moved to Westfield from Indiana after visiting Massachusetts for a friend’s wedding and fell in love with the area. Gene is survived by his loving mother, Evelyn Siurek of Melbourne FL, his baby sister, Susie Briski (Kevin) of Pensacola, FL and older sister Patricia Sadler (John) of Melbourne, FL. He was one amazing Uncle to three beautiful and loving nieces Belou Briski, Lyndsay Harris (Conrad), and Megan Burgos (Jason) Also a Great Uncle to Alice and Bruce. Gene had several passions with one being his home but more so his garden. Gene was the recipient of the Garden of the Year from the Friends of Grandmother’s Garden in 2004. Gene also designed his incredibly unique home. So much so it was the gathering place of all social events, birthdays, holidays and the unforgettable Sunday Dinners. Gene’s other passions were prominent in his home. His beloved Bengal cats Betty and Boris. And of course all of the amazing masterpieces he painted throughout his lifetime. Gene was truly an artist. But most importantly Gene was a loving, kind, generous and caring soul that will be missed incredibly by his Family and the Family of Great Friends he leaves behind!
