Evelyn J (Kras) Janisieski

Evelyn J. Janisieski, 91, of Westfield passed away on Thursday June 13, 2024, at Baystate Noble Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Majchrowicz) Kras of Chicopee, MA. While growing up, she was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Basilica. She married the love of her life Wesley J. Janisieski and moved to Westfield MA where she became a member of the Holy Trinity Parish, Rosary Society, and PTA. She worked for many years at Robinson Reminders Inc., Whites Quaint Shop, and later volunteered as a grandmother teaching assistant in Westfield schools. She enjoyed traveling with Wesley, family, and friends across most of the states in the US, camping at Indian Ranch Campground, visiting the Vatican in Rome and Eastern Europe, as well as making several pilgrimages to St. Anne de Beaupre in Quebec Canada. Evelyn enjoyed reading, crafts, crocheting, playing scrabble, and solving word puzzles. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Wesley in 2009, infant daughter Debbie, brothers and sisters Fred, Stanley, Ted, Jane, Helen, and Alice. She is survived by her son Richard S. Janis (Kathleen) of West Hartford, CT; Robert A. Janisieski of Westfield; and James P. Janisieski (Sharon) of Westfield. She also leaves grandchildren who loved her dearly, Ryan (Alissa), Dan (Alexandra), Amanda, Zach, Hannah (Pete), and Nate; and great-grandchildren Keegan, Kolton, Peyton, Realynn, Hunter, and Rocco; sister-in-law Frannie Zering; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Evelyn on Monday June 17, 2024, at 1 pm in Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm St. Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Calling hours before the Mass on Monday will be held at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield from 11am till 12:30 pm.
