Frank P Chlastawa

Frank P. Chlastawa Jr., 91, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Even in his final days, he continued to comfort those who loved him most. Born in Westfield, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Frank and Sophia (Kwapien) Chlastawa. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Ruth (Bulda) Chlastawa; his children, Allan (Valerie), James (Gail), Gary, and Frank (Judith); his cherished grandchildren, Alec (Emily), Ansley (James), Jake, Luke (Rebeka), Sara, and Matthew; and his great-grandchildren, Lennox, Parker, and Via. He also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews and his sister, Helen Frigon of Enfield, CT. He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Peter, Walter, Mitchell and his sisters, Victoria and Genevieve. Frank proudly served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 and was a longtime member of American Legion Post 124. He dedicated many years of service to the City of Westfield as a firefighter, retiring in 1993. An avid reader with a lifelong love of history, Frank also enjoyed keeping up with current events and cheering on the Boston Red Sox. He treasured the many years of travel and friendship he shared with his dear friends, Dan and Linda Reardon. A member of Grace Lutheran Church in West Springfield, Frank will be remembered for warmly welcoming family and friends into his home alongside Ruth, as well as for his calm nature, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Baystate Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Frank during his final days. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, Massachusetts. A memorial service will immediately follow, with burial afterward at Brookside Cemetery in Easthampton.
