Frank P. Mazut, 90, of Westfield passed away peacefully on September 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 2, 1933 in Proctor, VT to the late Eli Mazut and Emily (Bozak) Mazut. He worked for Monsanto Chemical Company for over 30 years, retiring at the age of 58. Frank was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield. He was married to the love of his life for 62 years, Evelyn M.(Janisieski) Mazut, who predeceased him in 2018. He leaves his children, Paul(Nancy) of Becket, MA and his daughters Ann Marie(Raymond) Picard and Carol(Thomas) O’Connor of Westfield, his granddaughters, Camille(Abhi) Bhakta of Watertown, MA and Renee Picard of Denver, CO who were his pride and joy. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Eli and Joseph Mazut. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was so loved by his family, friends and neighbors for his kind, caring and thoughtful nature as well as his sense of humor. He would always go out of his way to help others. He was a graduate of Proctor High School, Proctor, VT where he was a star basketball player. His earlier days in Proctor, were always close at heart, and he always enjoyed visits or phone calls with classmates. Frank was grateful to have a long healthy retirement. He was fortunate to spend the winter months in Englewood, FL for over 20 years. He also enjoyed special times with his family and friends at his home in West Yarmouth, MA. Frank was the happiest to come home to Westfield, to the home he built with his brother-in-law, Frank. Our family would like to thank everyone that offered Frank kindness and support, especially in the last 5 years. We are forever grateful for his neighbors, his “buddy’ Jeff, Bill/Jackie, Mike/Rebecca, Jane W., Emily and Jane G. and all the other neighbors who watched out for him, visited him and offered help whenever he needed it. Calling hours will be held at Firtion Adams Funeral Home, Westfield on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 8:30-10:00am followed by a liturgy of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church, Westfield, MA. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank’s memory may be made to Westfield Technical Academy (WTA) Horticultural Department, 33 Smith Ave., Westfield, MA.
